Recently invited to adjunct lecture part time at Newbold College. He is married to Ann-Marie and is thankful to God for the union and for her unstinting support.
To all who need encouragement, Dr. Herbert would draw their attention to:
Isaiah 26:3-4
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength."
To all who need a Saviour, Dr. Herbert would quote:
John 6:37
"...Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out..."
Dr. Herbert lives by the rule, 'Keep a Song in your heart and a Prayer on your lips." Two songs in particular have been a source of strength to him. The first one simply says:
No one ever cared for me like Jesus, There's no other friend so kind as He, No one else could take the sin and darkness from me:O how much He cared for me.
The other song would summarise his testimony, especially the verse which says:
Through Every Pain Every Tear
There's A God Who's Been Faithful To Me
When My Strength Was All Gone
When My Heart Had No Song
Still In Love He's Proved Faithful To Me
Every Word He's Promised Is True
What I Thought Was Impossible
I've Seen My God Do
He's Been Faithful
Faithful To Me
The prayer on Dr. Herbert's lips is simply, "Lord make me a Servant today."
