Ps. John Mavesere was born in Lusaka Zambia at UTH hospital. His parents relocated to Zimbabwe soon after the independence of Zimbabwe. He was raised in Gweru, Midlands area most of his childhood life. Before joining ministry in 2004, he mainly worked with the personal ministry department. He then did his BA with Solusi university and currently working on his MA dissertation. He delites in the ethical issues of the Apocalypse.
He is characterised by his deep passion for souls. His highest annual baptism was 1002 in 2015. He loves people. Seeking to save the lost is his biggest wickness. Over the past 14 years he has saved in 4 district three years in each. Currently he saves in Redcliff District in the NWZC.
He contributed in the mission story magazine in 2003 under the title "nothing but faith". The same article was later published in the quarterly inside story in 2016. In it he shares a testimony of how God step into his academic tuition experience.
To the bereaved he often says:
- I pray that God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to be very kind to you. I pray that they will cause you to be without trouble deep inside yourselves.
- We thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, because he is so good to us. He is such a very, very kind Father, and only he himself can really comfort us.
- He comforts us during all things that cause trouble and pain for us. So then, as a result, we ourselves can comfort other people who have any kind of trouble or pain. We can comfort them because God himself has comforted us.
- We have very much trouble and pain, as Christ did. We have very much trouble and pain because we are his. But, in the same way, we know also how very much Christ comforts us
